We are hiring a Service Technician on behalf of our client in Port Hope. This position is full-time (Monday to Friday) covering the day shift.

The successful candidate will provide comprehensive technical support to customers including maintenance, troubleshooting and repair/adjustment of conveyor systems inside and outside of North America.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Effectively evaluate equipment, recommend and perform appropriate repairs, remove and replace defective parts and maintain a variety of industrial equipment
• Provide excellent customer service with a professional demeanor
• Recommend/sell spare parts as needed for customers
• Regularly observe customer sites and assess customer needs
• Maintain test facilities and perform tests of custom material
• Complete test and maintenance reports
• Manage and prepare expense reports
• Adhere to all safety regulations, company policies and customer safety/housekeeping guidelines

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Service Technician or related field certificate/diploma required
• Previous experience working on conveyor systems required
• Strong mechanical and electrical working knowledge of maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of automated conveyor systems and other material handling equipment
• Experience and knowledge of pneumatic, hydraulic and electrical instruments
• Able to read and understand schematics, maps, blueprints and manuals
• Strong understanding of electrical schematics
• Understanding of PLC, LOGO and similar controls
• Willing to travel regularly in future (both inside and outside of North America)
• Strong customer service skills
• Computer literacy (ex. email, video conference)
• Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
• Able to take a logical approach to troubleshooting
• Able to lead a team

HOURS: Monday to Friday, 7:00am – 3:30pm
