We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Custodian to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring that our facilities are clean, well-maintained, and safe for all occupants. This role is essential in maintaining a positive environment and upholding the standards of cleanliness and hygiene within our premises. This position is for a one year contract.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine cleaning tasks including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming and dusting to maintain cleanliness throughout the facility.
• Ensure that restrooms are cleaned, stocked, and maintained in a sanitary condition.
• Empty trash receptacles and dispose of waste properly.
• Maintain surroundings such as washing walls, windows, furniture and window coverings.
• Operate floor scrubber to clean production floors.
• Conduct regular inspections of the facilities to identify maintenance needs or safety hazards.
• Assist with minor repairs and maintenance tasks on windows, doors, switches, desks, tables, plugs, equipment, appliances, sinks, toilets, etc.
• Maintain outside grounds (snow removal, ice, debris, spray and remove weeds, sweep and clean gutters, etc.)
• Report any significant maintenance issues to the appropriate personnel promptly.
• Follow safety protocols and use cleaning chemicals according to established guidelines as well as wearing all appropriate PPE.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in commercial cleaning or facilities maintenance is preferred but not required.
• Strong attention to detail with a commitment to maintaining a clean environment.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
• Good physical stamina; ability to lift and move items as necessary.
• Familiarity with cleaning equipment and supplies is a plus.
• Excellent time management skills and ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
