Laser Operator
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented CO2 Laser Operator to join our client’s manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating CO2 laser cutting machines to produce high-quality components according to specifications. This role requires a strong understanding of mechanical processes and the ability to read blueprints effectively. The CO2 Laser Operator will play a crucial role in ensuring that production goals are met while maintaining safety and quality standards.
Responsibilities
- Operate laser cutting machines to fabricate parts as per design specifications.
- Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings to determine the correct cutting paths.
- Conduct quality inspections of finished products to ensure adherence to specifications.
- Perform routine maintenance on laser equipment and troubleshoot any issues that arise.
- Collaborate with team members to assemble components and prepare them for further processing.
- Utilize additional tools such as verniers and micometers, as well as machinery such as press brake machines and plasma cutters as needed.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to safety protocols at all times.
- Understand NC Express software, have knowledge of gas settings, and read, understand and follow WIP sheet.
- Attentiveness to detail in following procedures, performing system checks, logging and recording, programming and troubleshooting.
- Assist in training new operators on equipment operation and safety practices.
Qualifications
- 1-3 years’ experience operating CO2 laser cutting machines or similar equipment.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to perform basic repairs and maintenance.
- Familiarity with sheet metal flat patterns and CNC machinery is preferred.
- Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings accurately.
- Experience with quality inspection processes to ensure product standards are met.
- Skills in welding, fabrication, or assembly are advantageous.
- Able to lift 50lbs+ comfortably.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
