Abatement / Residential Demolition General Laborer

Pay: CA$22.00-CA$31.00 per hour

Join our client’s dynamic team as a Abatement / Residential Demolition General Laborer and be a vital part of transforming spaces through safe, efficient, and precise demolition and construction work. The Abatement / Residential Demolition General Laborer is responsible for assisting with hazardous material abatement and residential demolition projects. This role involves manual labor, site preparation, material removal, and maintaining safe working conditions. The ideal candidate is reliable, safety-conscious, and comfortable performing physically demanding work in a construction environment.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with abatement activities including the safe removal and containment of hazardous materials such as asbestos, mold, and other regulated materials, following proper safety procedures and regulations.
  • Operate hand tools and power tools to dismantle structures efficiently.
  • Remove debris, hazardous materials, and recyclable materials from job sites, maintaining cleanliness and safety at all times.
  • Support the disassembly of fixtures such as doors, windows, cabinetry, flooring, and roofing materials with precision.
  • Conduct on-site inspections to ensure demolition activities comply with safety regulations and project specifications.
  • Collaborate with construction management teams to coordinate demolition schedules and logistics.
  • Assist with site restoration tasks including concrete forming, masonry cleanup, or minor remodeling as needed.
  • Follow all safety protocols diligently to prevent accidents and ensure a secure work environment for everyone on site.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in construction, demolition, or abatement work is required.
  • Knowledge of asbestos or hazardous material abatement procedures is an asset.
  • Experience with supervision or team leadership an asset.
  • Familiarity with hand and power tools and safety procedures in construction settings.
  • Knowledge of construction safety standards and OSHA regulations.
  • Basic understanding of construction disciplines such as plumbing, electrical systems, masonry, or carpentry is a plus.
  • Strong physical stamina with the ability to lift heavy materials and stand for extended periods.
  • Excellent teamwork skills with a proactive attitude toward safety and quality work execution.
  • Experience working
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to access site locations.
