Line Cook
Pay: CA$22.00-CA$25.00 per hour
Job description:
We are currently seeking an experienced Line Cook to join our client’s kitchen team. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and cooking high-quality meals while maintaining food safety, cleanliness, consistency, and presentation standards. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced kitchen environment and takes pride in producing consistent, high-quality food.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook meats, seafood, poultry, vegetables, and other menu items using grills, broilers, ovens, fryers, and other kitchen equipment.
- Follow established recipes, portion sizes, cooking methods, and quality standards.
- Ensure all food served meets required quality and presentation standards.
- Prepare ingredients by portioning, seasoning, breading, battering, and completing other preparation tasks.
- Stock and maintain sufficient food products at assigned line stations.
- Follow proper plating, presentation, and garnish standards.
- Handle, store, label, and rotate food products properly.
- Maintain clean and sanitary workstations, equipment, refrigeration units, grills, fryers, and preparation surfaces.
- Assist with food preparation during slower periods as required.
- Complete kitchen opening and closing procedures and checklists.
- Accommodate special guest requests while maintaining quality and food safety standards.
- Work collaboratively with kitchen staff and supervisors to ensure efficient service.
- Perform other related kitchen duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- 1–2 years of experience in a restaurant, hotel, resort, banquet facility, or high-volume commercial kitchen.
- Strong knowledge of food preparation and cooking techniques.
- Good understanding of food safety, sanitation, and proper food-handling practices.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to follow recipes, instructions, portion standards, and kitchen procedures.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to food quality.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a kitchen team.
- Culinary education or certification is considered an asset but is not required.
Schedule: Wednesday-Sunday 12:00pm-8:00pm
