Mortgage Fulfillment/Underwriting Assistant

Pay: CA$22.00 per hour

Job description:

We are currently seeking a detail-oriented Mortgage Fulfillment/Underwriting Assistant to support a local mortgage company with the review, preparation, and processing of mortgage applications. The successful candidate will have strong administrative skills, excellent attention to detail, and ideally previous experience working with mortgage documentation, lending, banking, or financial services. This position offers in office training and then the ability to work from home and will start as part time with the potential to offer full time hours.

Responsibilities

  • Review mortgage applications and supporting documentation for completeness and accuracy.
  • Review income documents, employment information, bank statements, tax documents, property information, credit reports, and other supporting documentation.
  • Identify missing, inconsistent, or potentially problematic information before files are submitted to lenders.
  • Assist with preparing complete, accurate, and well-organized mortgage submission packages.
  • Review lender commitments and identify outstanding conditions or documentation requirements.
  • Follow up on outstanding documents and information as required.
  • Monitor mortgage files from initial submission through lender approval and final funding.
  • Maintain accurate and organized electronic files and records.
  • Communicate with internal team members regarding file status, documentation requirements, and outstanding conditions.
  • Assist with other mortgage administration and processing duties as required.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in mortgage administration, mortgage processing, lending, banking, or financial services is strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge of mortgage documentation and lender requirements is an asset.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to identify inconsistencies or missing information.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple files and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Comfortable reviewing confidential financial and personal information.
  • Proficient with computers, email, document management systems, and Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to work independently while maintaining accuracy in a deadline-driven environment.
  • Reliable internet and a quiet, in home office space required.
